About this course
Emergency First Aid Recertification is designed for individuals who already hold a current Emergency First Aid w/ CPR-B certification and need to renew it.
This refresher reviews essential skills including: victim assessment, CPR, choking, bleeding control, heart attack, stroke, and shock management.
Includes CPR-B recertification.
Recognized by Ontario’s Workplace Safety & Insurance Board (WSIB).
This program is not restricted to aquatic candidates and is widely used in workplaces, camps, playgrounds, and the general public.

- Prerequisite: Current Emergency First Aid w/ CPR-B certification
- Certification: Valid for 3 years

- Required material: Canadian First Aid Manual or Canadian Lifesaving Manual

- Refresh knowledge of first aid goals and principles.
- Review legal considerations and universal precautions (barrier devices, gloves, hygiene).
- Practice victim assessments (primary & secondary).
- Renew CPR-B skills for adults, children, and infants, including AED use.
- Review choking management (conscious and unconscious victims).
- Practice emergency care for respiratory and cardiovascular emergencies.
- Review trauma care: bleeding, burns, fractures, and shock.
- Demonstrate effective EMS activation and bystander direction.
